A welcome-home basket for the room the baby is coming home to.

The first weeks at home have a small geography of objects: the basket on the floor of the nursery, the blanket folded on top of it, the bottle warmed for the first feeding, the brush set on the changing table, the book on the shelf above. The Basket is seven of those objects, arranged in a hand-loomed wool basket that doubles as the gift container. Eight pieces, one room, ready to land.

WHY WE BUILT IT

The Basket is the bundle we built for the welcome-home gift sent before the baby arrives, or in the first week after. Seven pieces, arranged in the wool basket that holds them: the daily-wear layette, the daily-grooming kit, the first ABC, the first companion, the first feeding bottle, and the blanket folded on top. A small geography of objects, ready to land in the nursery.

SIZING AND SELECTION

The Quincy Mae footie is sized 0–3 months, chosen rather than selectable. The 0–3M size matches the period when the bundle is sent to the nursery, before the baby grows into the next layer of clothing. The Lorena Canals basket is the Pink Nose Sheep colorway, chosen rather than selectable because the warm-cream palette is what makes the bundle the bundle. The Lifefactory bottle is Stone Grey, Stage 1 nipple. The Viverano blanket is one size in the Furry Sheep print. The Chronicle ABC and the Milo Bear are not variant-selectable.
