Marlowe & Co Knotted Gown in Natural Bamboo — heirloom-weight bamboo with a knotted bottom, undyed and palette-clean. The first-night gown, soft enough to sleep in, considered enough to keep.

Milk & Honey Babies Organic Egyptian Cotton Burp Cloths, Set of Four — GOTS-certified, the four cloths that handle every shoulder for the first eighteen months.

Homecourt Cece Signature Candle — the kiln-fired ceramic vessel that becomes a vase or a holder for hair ties when the candle has burned down. The ceramic is the keepsake; the candle is the welcome.

WHY WE BUILT IT

The Heirloom is the bundle we built for the gift-giver who has been giving baby gifts for a long time. The grandmother who has watched three generations of nursery trends pass and would rather buy something that isn't a trend. The aunt who knows that the most-loved baby gifts are the ones that outlast the baby stage — the plush still on the bed, the book filled in by hand, the linen box on the shelf. Seven pieces, chosen because they each have a second life. Each of them is meant to outlast the year it was given.

SIZING AND SELECTION

The Cuddle + Kind 20" plush is offered in two: Noah the Dog or Evelyn the Golden Puppy in Ballet Pink. Selected at checkout. The Marlowe & Co gown is in the Natural Bamboo colorway, sized 3–6 months, chosen rather than selectable. The size positions the gown for the second and third months home, when the early newborn pieces have been grown out of and the heirloom-weight gown becomes the daily-wear piece a mother reaches for. The Sugar Paper Baby Book is in the Flax colorway, chosen rather than selectable because the warm flax linen reads heirloom in a way the cooler chambray does not. The Sunday Citizen throw is the Cloud Gray colorway, chosen rather than selectable because the neutral palette is part of what makes the bundle the bundle.
